About the instructor:
Sonja Bergquist explores wood through the creation of utilitarian items and freeform sculptural ponderings. She grew up in a fishing family that insisted their gruff woodshop fixes were nothing thoughtful. Sonja continues to insist on the beauty of this type of work and is inspired by it endlessly. She has spent time as an assistant and fellow at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship and is currently the woodwork teacher at the Maine Coast Waldorf School.
