Intro To Drawing Class in Portland, Maine

Join us to learn the basics of drawing objects from perception, using various forms of charcoal, erasers, and newsprint. We will use multiple techniques, including measuring and rendering through highlight and shadow, to capture the proper proportions and volume of our subjects, which will primarily be still lifes.

This class is for adults, as well as children 12 and older. All materials will be provided.

About the instructor:
Kelsey Grass is an illustrator and educator whose work is rooted in storytelling, imagination, and a love of the natural world. Raised in rural Maine, she draws inspiration from forests and folktales. With a BFA and MFA in illustration, Kelsey brings infectious enthusiasm to the classroom, creating an encouraging space where students of all levels can explore, grow, and discover their own creative spark.
