Learn to make a quilt with Travis! This class will take you through the steps of making a small quilt from start to finish: cutting, strip-piecing, assembling the top & layers, quilting, and basting. Homework will be required each week to be ready for the next step. Emphasis will be on completion, not perfection!
A fabric & supply list for students will be sent out upon registration. All tools (including sewing machines) are available to borrow for the duration of the class. No quilting experience needed, but prior experience threading a sewing machine and making a bobbin is helpful. Take Intro to Sewing at Factory 3 if you need an intro!
About the instructor:
Travis is a bag maker and quilter who comes from a large family of Maine quilters. He started making quilts in 2006 and started teaching Intro to Quilting in 2016 in Portland, Oregon. When he's not quilting, you can find him canoeing Maine’s wilderness lakes or picking his banjo on his porch in Westbrook.
