Garment Sewing: Make Your Own Piece Class in Portland, Maine

Put your sewing skills into practice by sewing your own garment. Under guided instruction, start sewing and constructing the garment of your choice. Bring your pattern from Sewing 3, or arrive at this class with a cut-out pattern of your own. We will go over the process of construction depending on your pattern and design. Learn to approach garment making with confidence and creativity!
Prerequisite: Sewing 2 or equivalent, Sewing 3 also recommended — comfort with a sewing machine, pattern use, and construction basics. Details of what to bring to class will be provided after you sign up.
About the instructor:
Eleanor Cox is a fashion designer and educator who trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology with a focus on women’s ready-to-wear and sustainability. She started her fashion journey in Portland at age 15, learning the value of small-batch, local production. After more than five years in New York menswear and later luxury women’s and menswear design—including Paris Fashion Week—Eleanor shifted into freelance costume design for films and music projects. She has since returned to Portland, where she runs her clothing line, Pritlove, and has a newfound love of teaching.
